It’s time to get ready and start thinking about 2022!

You must give your dreams and goals a voice, so please, before your full holiday agenda gets going, start to think about what you want to accomplish for 2022.

In Portugal, my home country, we have the tradition of eating 12 raisins at 12 o’clock on New Year’s Eve to ask for 12 wishes for the new year.

Well, I must tell you, there were so many years I didn’t know what to ask for. I didn’t plan, I didn’t visualize. Sometimes, I was even eating 2 or 3 raisins at the time to get ready for the kisses and hugs with my family.

Why am I telling you this? Because I have gone from this non-planned, rushed 12 raisins tradition to doing a Vision Board during New Year’s Eve with my family, making a new tradition.

We still eat the 12 raisins, but now we have our wishes down on paper!

There is another fun part of the Vision Board — the preparation. We do the 12 wishes, which now I call the 12 goals, divided into the 4 quadrants of life.

Here’s how we organize our 12 goals:

  • 3 goals for Quadrant SELF
  • 3 goals for Quadrant HOME
  • 3 goals for Quadrant WORK
  • 3 goals for Quadrant COMMUNITY

It doesn’t have to be that strict, but it gives structure, which makes it so much easier to know what to ask for! It is actually a really enjoyable exercise!

However, I am noticing a commonality of what holds people back when making a Vision Board. Representing their own dreams and their own goals. I am noticing this with my family, with my friends, and with my clients.

It’s the BUTS that hold us back!!!

But I can’t because…
But it is not possible because…
But I have to do this so it will never happen…

Vision Boards are about what you want! Vision Boards are about what you desire! It is a representation to help you visualize your Dreams!

If others laugh about it, leave them behind!!! That’s their problem! They are the short-minded people, not you!

Think about the very successful people. They usually begin as the crazy ones, the ones who were not fitting in.

And do you know why?

Because it is from human nature to play on the safe side. We can’t imagine that taking risks will be the smart choice! And when we don’t see others around us doing it, we don’t believe it’s possible for anyone!!

It is because of this reason you should do your own Vision Board! You don’t see others doing it, so you do it! You research the world of possibilities around you! You and only you!

The number one thing you need to create your Vision Board is:

  • Focus on what you want
  • Don’t focus on what you don’t have

Example:

I want to live near the beach, wake up and go for a run every day along the sea. Well, I need to be focused on the details.

  • What type of beach?
  • Where is it located?
  • What type of houses are on the beach?
  • What lifestyle can I expect?
  • Should I plan vacations near the beach so we can experience the feeling of living on a beach?

This is the type of focus I should be having.

We shouldn’t be focused on what could be stopping us.

My job is in the city.
Owning a beach house is insanely expensive.
Living in a beach house is only for wealthy people!

Seriously. Stop focusing on what you don’t have and, but rather think about the possibilities! Let your mind fly and have the experience before it happens!

This summer, we went to the beach and I would wake up to run early in the mornings, just before the sunrise. It was just beautiful!

When I would close my eyes and visualize living there, it matched my dreams!

I will have a beach house in my Vision Board!

What about you? Are you ready to build your Vision Board?

I am having a FREE masterclass on November 17, 2021 to create our Vision Boards together! I know it can seem overwhelming, but with my help and the support of others, you can set your sights on your dreams and create a beautiful visualization to remind you what you’re working so hard for!
